Robert Mugge discusses the writing of his filmmaking memoir
and production of his music-related films
On Sunday, November 12, 2023, David Eisner, owner of the House of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park, MD, and Richard Harrington, former longtime music critic for The Washington Post, spent two hours interviewing filmmaker and author Robert Mugge on WOWD-LP’s “The Musical Traditions Encounter” program. Discussed were the writing of Mugge’s 2023 memoir, ”Notes from the Road: A Filmmaker’s Journey through American Music,” and the making of seven of his music-related films that were screened from November 16 through November 19, 2023 at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center in Silver Spring, MD. The conversation was interspersed with musical performances recorded for several of the films in question.
